Whether you spend your summers lounging at the pool or sunning on the beach, chances are you’ve indulged in one or more fabulous and fruity cocktails. Turn your kitchen into a beachfront bar year-round with these 8 simple recipes recommended by Breathless Resorts. Don’t let those summertime memories slip away!

FROZEN MUDSLIDE

For the chocolate lover in all of us, whip up this adult twist on a classic dessert favorite. We won’t tell anyone you’re sneaking in dessert before dinner. 😉

Ingredients

1 part coffee liqueur
1 part vodka
1 part Irish cream liqueur
1 part milk or cream
1 cup ice
Chocolate syrup & strawberry for garnish

Directions

  1. Drizzle chocolate syrup around the inside of hurricane glasses. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Pour mudslide into glasses and garnish with a sweet strawberry on top. Enjoy!

FROZEN BLUE HAWAIIAN

Take back a little bit of the sparkling cerulean ocean with you when you sip on the Pina Colada’s colorful cousin. Your kitchen is only moments away from becoming the hottest spot in the neighborhood when you start mixing together the exotic tropical flavors of a Blue Hawaiian.

Ingredients

1 part white rum
1 part blue Curaçao
2 parts pineapple juice
1 part creme de coconut
1 cup ice
Apple & lemon for garnish

Directions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into hurricane glasses and garnish with a slice of lemon and apple (or your favorite fruit!)

SEVEN SEAS MARTINI

You’ll surprise yourself with how simple it is to achieve the striking deep teal color of this drink. Trick your friends into thinking you’ve got years of practice behind your “flairtending” skills.

Ingredients

1 part amaretto
1 part coconut rum
1 part Blue Curaçao
1.5 parts pineapple juice
Lime for garnish

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice, shake well and strain into a martini glass.
  2. Garnish with a slice of lime.

MANGO TANGO

Enjoy a two-for-one with the Mango Tango! Strawberry and mango daiquiris fuse together to create a warm duotone reminiscent of those sultry summertime sunsets that’ll have your mind back at the beach in no time.

Ingredients

 Mango Daiquiri3 oz rum
1.5 cup cubed mangos
1.5 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz triple sec
4 tsp sugar
2 cups ice
 Strawberry Daiquiri1 oz white rum
1 oz strawberry schnapps
1 oz fresh lime juice
Dash grenadine
Dash orange juice
2 cups ice


Directions

  1. Mango Daiquiri: Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Add ¼ mixture to a hurricane glass.
  2. Strawberry Daiquiri: Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Add ¼ mixture to glass on top of Mango Daiquiri.
  3. Garnish with a slice of lemon, pomegranate seeds and a sprig of rosemary.

TROPICAL RUM SUNSET

If the Mango Tango isn’t your speed, capture the timeless array of yellows, pinks and reds found in summer sunsets with this cocktail.

Ingredients

1 part coconut rum
1 part pineapple juice
1 part grenadine
Pineapple and cherry for garnish

Directions

  1. Place ice in glass, then pour the pineapple juice and rum over the ice.
  2. Pour the grenadine down one side of the glass. Make sure to pour slowly to retain color separation.
  3. Garnish.

PURPLE RAIN

Purple is our signature color at Breathless Resorts & Spas, and it’s only appropriate that this drink is named after one of Prince’s signature songs. The vibrant hue highlights the trendy, stylistic nature of the famed musician and the pulsating heartbeat at the core of our resorts.

Ingredients

1.5 parts vodka
1 part Blue Curaçao
1 part cranberry juice
1 part pineapple juice
1 part grenadine
Starfruit for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients into cocktail glass and serve over crushed ice and squeeze in fresh lime juice.
  2. Garnish with a slice of starfruit of an out of this world look!

TIPSY MERMAID RUM PUNCH

Who doesn’t want to be a mermaid? Follow the standard instructions for The Tipsy Mermaid Rum Punch or personalize it to your taste. No matter the occasion, this punch will leave your guests feeling as magical as its namesake.

Ingredients

2 parts spiced rum
1 part coconut rum
6 parts pineapple juice
.5 parts fresh lime juice
Dash Blue Curaçao
Lime and sugar for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine spiced rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice and lime juice in a separate container. If you prefer, substitute in lemonade for the pineapple juice.
  2. Wet the rims of the serving glasses (we used mason jars) with lime juice and dip into sugar to coat. Fill the glasses with ice cubes and a few lime slices, adding a dash of Blue Curaçao to the bottom of the glass.
  3. Pour the rum mixture slowly into the glasses and top off with a final lime slice. Optional: For a bubbly version, top off with a splash of club soda.

PARADISE COCKTAIL

There’s a science to creating a flawless cocktail.  To reach picture-perfect proportions on this one, you’ll need to put on your lab coat. Take your time creating your perfect Paradise – the end result is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Ingredients

1 part coconut run
1 part pineapple juice
1 part Blue Curaçao
1 part water
Dash grenadine
Kiwi and strawberry for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine coconut rum and pineapple juice in a separate container.
  2. Combine Blue Curaçao and water in a separate container.
  3. Pour grenadine into the bottom of the hurricane glass, then fill with ice.
  4. Slowly pour the rum mixture over the ice, then the Blue Curaçao mixture. Take your time to pour these to ensure the best color separation.
  5. Garnish.
